Responsibilities of the General Student Affairs Management

Continuous monitoring of the actions of student affairs units, coordination between their activities, division of labor, explanation and clarification of programs, and ensuring the proper execution of assigned tasks in the subordinate units.

  • Receiving and addressing students' suggestions and problems in the field of student affairs and referring them to the competent authorities for resolution, and, if necessary, holding a discussion session between the university president and the students.
  • Coordination with the employee welfare department to provide joint student and employee services such as consumer cooperatives, etc.
  • Preparation, provision, supervision, and control of all student welfare issues.
  • Holding elections for dormitory and faculty student councils.
  • Forecasting the budget needed by student management units.
  • Following up on the attraction of student subsidy funds through the Vice-Chancellor and the Student Welfare Fund of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
  • Supervising and coordinating the affairs of restaurants and supervising the university and dormitory cafeterias in terms of the hygiene of food materials and their cooking, as well as supervising the hygiene of the work environment and kitchens.
  • Providing the university's food program and providing the necessary equipment and raw materials for cooking food.
  • Estimating the costs of food materials and kitchen and self-service equipment and presenting them to the relevant units.
  • Performing affairs related to student cafeterias and purchasing food items and preparing related documents and keeping the income and expenses of the nutrition department.
  • Cooking healthy food based on the food program and sending it to the dormitories and distributing it in the student cafeteria.
  • Following up on obtaining financial resources and criteria in order to provide appropriate loans for students.
  • Performing affairs related to student health and accident insurance.
  • Performing affairs related to settling students' accounts upon graduation.
  • Establishing a precise guard system to establish order in dormitories and other safety and security devices in cooperation with the university security.
  • Supervising the dormitory transportation service.
  • Continuous supervision of dormitory hygiene.
  • Reviewing and estimating dormitory facilities and repair services and presenting them to the relevant units.
  • Preparing and recording documents related to students' accommodation.
  • Preparing the necessary reports on student accommodation costs and reflecting them to the Student Welfare Fund of the country in a timely manner.
  • Providing non-governmental dormitory spaces for the accommodation of newly admitted students and equipping them with dormitory necessities.
  • Preparing and providing dormitory computers and servicing and maintaining them.
  • Communication with institutions and Qarz al-Hasaneh funds to provide student loans.
  • Performing other tasks assigned by the Vice-Chancellor for Student and Cultural Affairs and the University President.
