Following the expression of certain professional concerns and protests by a group of students regarding the quality of nutrition in the initial days of the new academic year, the President and the Student Affairs Vice-President of Lorestan University promptly took action with an interactive and accountable approach.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, as a first step, the President of Lorestan University (Dr. Mehrdad Dadastani) and the Student Affairs Vice-President (Dr. Mehdi Shahin) visited the central self-service cafeteria to field-assess and closely examine the nutrition situation through direct conversations with students.

In continuation of these follow-ups, an urgent meeting was held with the relevant contractor, and with the direct emphasis of the University President, the full implementation of the necessary commitments to enhance the quality of nutrition was underscored.

According to the explicit directive of the University President, the contractor is obligated to improve the quality of nutrition in accordance with the expected standards by the end of the current week, based on increasing student satisfaction; otherwise, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, further legal and more serious actions will be taken.

It is noteworthy that the process of supplying raw materials for nutrition, based on the new directive of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, is the responsibility of the contractor, under the supervision of the universities.

Furthermore, regarding prices, it is emphasized that in proportion to the inflation rate announced by the Statistical Center of Iran, the prices of meal servings in universities across the country are periodically determined and announced by the Student Welfare Fund of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

In conclusion, the President of Lorestan University and the Student Affairs Vice-President, while emphasizing that professional, civil, and peaceful protest is a legal and natural right of students, requested dear students to prevent any potential misuse of professional demands by utilizing legal and official channels.
